Consultations on storage types and methods.
For established homes, new homes, additions and storage units.
It is important to understand what a room is actually meant to be used for and to reconcile that against what is currently in it. Solutions must be practical.
People put off the task of arranging better storage, they may buy heaps of containers and fancy containers but they are often not suited to the task - Some do not get properly used at all. It is important to buy the appropriate containers and not to be wasteful in terms of money or space. A better piece of furniture can often be bought with the same amount of money as is spent on plastic drawers, crates, etc.
Adjustable shelves and sufficient shelves or drawers are one easy method of using the space available more effectively. Kitchens, linen cupboards and robes sometimes need more shelves so losts of articles are not stacked on top of each other and damaged.
The Kitchen
As seen on the left, a change from one shelf to 4 drawers. This allowed for the placement of kitchen cups and mugs to be near the kettle, dishwasher and sink. In other drawers there is still room for all the plastics.
Storage Units
The use of a Storage Unit is sometimes necessary as an interim solution for storage of "must keep" items. Well marked boxes and an inventory of the contents is essential for easy retrieval of belongings during the rental life of the unit. We can assist in this process and provide tips on storage and its use.
