The Home Matters' Professional Organisers are members of the AAPO. Consultants are trained by Marianne. They are all women enjoying helping people. They are available on different days of the week and Marianne selects consultants, to suit clients availability and time structure.
Many clients won't ask friends for help as they maybe embarrassed by their disorganisation.
By having a Home Matters' PO or Consultant, people become more objective about the task. They see the quantity and types of possessions they have. Eg. A client says "I was going to give that to charity 5 years ago, perhaps I'll do it now". They recycle it now and get rid of their clutter.
We can show you "Where to Start." Give you choices on storage for your space, suggestions on reducing clutter and ways to recycle. You can then do the process yourself or with your family.
Working with a client to overcome their organisational and storage problems also makes them aware that this is the start of a new way of living. The clients and their families have been part of that process too.
Books, magazines and television can give ideas but if you have made a decision that you need "someone" to help, you can phone Marianne.
Home Economist
Marianne Shenton established Home Matters in Perth Western Australia in September 2001.
Marianne is a Home Economist and Teacher. She worked in schools for many years teaching the Home Economics related subjects of Food and Nutrition, Early Childhood Studies and Textiles. She also lived overseas in England and Tokyo, Japan.
As a practical organised person who always helped people, she decided to start her own business. Organising people in their own homes and helping them overcome their problems was her prime objective. She found clients had a lack of time to achieve the tasks in their own home. Some had the skills in their work environment but with additional family members using their space at home they were unable to maintain any continuity.
Marianne had been helping people with their "mess" and "chaos". Now it is termed "clutter" and "chaos".
